The Society of St. Vincent de Paul has been active at St. Patrick's for more than 30 years.
The conference meets monthly and is a member of the Diocese of Worcester Central Council of St. Vincent de Paul, as well as the United States National Conference. The Society came into being in 1833 in France as a lay organization dedicated to the poor and founded by Frederic Ozanam who was recently canonized.
Food, clothing, utility and family crisis needs are part of the work of St. Vincent de Paul. A food pantry is maintained at St. Patrick's church and shared with the Rutland Congregational Church. Food is received from parishioners of both churches, the school, post office, Boy Scouts, and other organizations.
